In the previous episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, we have seen that Naira prepared to return to Udaipur. While Naira planed to return to Kartik along with their son Kairav, Kartik’s grandmother Suhasini lied on the death bed. The doctor told the Goenka family that Suhasini’s surgery was successful. Naksh tried to put some sense into Kartik by saying that there is nothing wrong in getting married again. He went on to say that grandmother had a heart attack due to the same stress and that if she learns that Kartik is ready to settle down with Vedika, her health will improve. Later, a devastated Kartik made a shocking proposal to Vedika. He asked Vedika to marry him for the sake of grandmother’s health.
In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 16th July 2019 episode, Naira takes Kairav to the bus stand as she plans to go to Udaipur. Naira tells Lisa that her mother used to tell her that when people are destined to meet, no one can stop them from meeting each other. She goes on to say that those who are destined to separate can never unite. She says that she has witnessed both. Lisa tells her that God wants Kartik and her to unite. On the other hand, Kartik agrees to marry Vedika.
Kartik’s paternal uncle Akhilesh thinks in his mind that for so many years, there was neither information about Naira no Kartik was moving on and now when they know that Naira is alive, Kartik has agreed to marry Vedika. The Goenka family decides to keep a veneration for Suhasini’s recovery. Vedika asks Kartik if he’s doing this for his grandmother. Kartik says how does it matter now as whatever is happening is according to everyone’s wish.
Later, Kairav falls unconscious in his mother’s arms, leaving Naira shattered to tears. Naira takes Kairav to the hospital, where the doctor tells her that Kairav felt dizzy due to weakness. Akhilesh suggests Kartik rethink about his decision to get married to Vedika. Akhilesh video calls his girlfriend, Lisa. He indirectly tells her about Kartik and Vedika’s wedding.
