American actor Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage better known as Joe Exotic has been sentenced for the next twenty-one years in the murder-for-hire plot reduced. The official courtroom sentencing sheet from the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma-Oklahoma City confirmed the news of Joe Exotic.

Why Was Joe Exotic Arrested

The attorney of Joe Exotic, John M. Phillips, said via mail that we are unsatisfied with the decision of the court and will appeal. The main issues will be addressed in the Motion for New Trial”. During the hearing, Exotic said in the court that I have two non-curable diseases and now have to add cancer to that list. Please don’t make me deal with cancer in prison waiting on an appeal”.

Joe Exotic was convicted in a case that involves animal welfare activist Carole Baskin. They both were featured in the Netflix series “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness”. The proceeding took place on Friday, January 28, 2022. Most of the people don’t know about this and want to know about the charges due to which, he was arrested.

What Are The Charges Against Joe Exotic?

Well, Joe Exotic has been sentenced to the next 22 years in prison in 2020 for planning the assassination of American rights activist, Carole Baskin. She is the CEO of Big Cat Rescue. Well, Exotic was charged with two of murder-for-hire – violating the Lacy Act for falsifying wildlife records with eight counts and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.

Due to Exotic and Carole’s quarrel, he plotted to have Carole Baskin murdered. As per the charges, he offered $5,000 to the Zoo’s maintenance man to kill Baskin at that time. Along with this, he also attempted to hire an undercover FBI agent to murder the animal rights activist. Carole Baskin is a 60-years-old activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue.

According to the sources, he offered $10,000 to the agent during a meeting in 2017. It is also important to share that in 2013, a 58-years-old ex zoo owner was also ordered to pay $1 million to Carole Baskin for using the images and logos that violates the rights of  the IPs owned by Big Cat Rescue.

Well, Carole sold the Zoo last year in August with such condition that it will be never be used as a zoo or any event related to Tiger King.
