Disturbance news in Mesquite outside a grocery store parking lot becomes the last day for a Mesquite police officer on Friday. The incident took a life of a police officer because Mesquite Police Chief David Gill confirmed that the wounded officer has died. The officer was immediately taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Dallas for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Many people paid tribute to him and gave their heartfelt messages to the police officer who passed away during his duty.
When the police officer got the information of disturbance from the parking lot of a grocery store on Friday Afternoon on 3rd December 2021, they reached there.
According to Mesquite Police Capt. Stephen Biggs, the firing occurred at around 1:40 PM in the parking lot of Albertson’s grocery store in the 1500 block of South Beltline Road, when police were called to report a disturbance faced by two women. When the police reached the place, the suspect start firing at him and shot the police officer two times. Later, the cop and the suspect were taken to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas as both were injured in the cross-firing but the suspect got only one shot.
After the police officers reached Dallas, the cop is confirmed to death during the arrival. On the other hand, the suspect is being admitted to the hospital with gunshot injuries. As per the sources, the cop who passed away in the encounter named Richard Houston hailed from Texas. Richard’s good friend Gill stated that they later inform the family members of Richard and asks them to come in his prayers. The person who shot the police officer to death is in critical condition but the identity of the suspect has not been revealed yet.
