The arrest of the rapper was confirmed by The Pinellas County Sheriff’s that Rod Wave was arrested on May 2 in St. Petersburg Fla. on a felony charge of battery by strangulation. Along with this, the circumstances leading to Wave’s arrest remain unknown. Now, it has been confirmed that he is still in police custody. Well, the representatives and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office didn’t make any comment on his arrest of him. Well, the official RapTV channel tweeted,” Rod Wave reportedly arrested for battery by strangulation”.
Why Was Rod Wave Arrested?
According to the sources, the arrest of the rapper was made on Monday morning, May 2, 2022. While the court documents were obtained by Neighborhood Talk state that he was taken into custody regarding to the incident of an unidentified individual. While, the reason behind his arrest has been made that he was arrested on the charges of battery by strangulation refers to a third-degree felony that carries a maximum of five years in prison including five years of probation and also a fine of $5,000.
More details have not been revealed by the authorities yet and Rod Wave is still under the custody of the St. Petersburg Police Department. While a video was shared by Neighborhood Talk where Rod can be seen with officers’ lights flashing in the background as well. Along with this, Police arrested him after he confirmed that he had finished his work on his upcoming album titled “Beautiful Mind”. Later, the rapper confirmed that his upcoming record is about to release and on the way after sharing a freestyle on Future, Drake, and Tems’s wait For U. Still, the release date of the album is untold.
