An official announcement has been made by the Putnam Country Sheriff’s office that the body of a 1-years-old toddler has been discovered after a long manhunt of about 24 hours. According to the official details, the remains of the toddler were found in a septic tank in Florida. While Sheriff Gator DeLoach said that the opening of the tank was covered by weeds, dirt, and plywood. It could be a possibility that the child accidentally stepped on the things or rotted plywood and fell inside the septic tank. Currently, the death of the toddler has been investigated as a tragic accident for currently.
A 1-year-old toddler has been identified as Jose Lara who was last seen around 01:15 PM on Sunday, March 27. According to the witness, he was playing with his sibling in the backyard of their home. While his mother took the other child into the house to give them a wash and during that time, there is a possibility that Lara fell down in the tank. When she returned to take him back as well, Lara was gone.

It was announced by Colonel Joseph Wells with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office that three teams, including two air units and dozens of deputies were involved in the manhunt. The announcement was made on Monday, March 28, when the investigation of the case began. Along with this, it was said by the deputies that there is a swamp near the homes.
Colonel Joseph Wells said that some animals like otters were also seen in the water and there could be alligators and snakes in the swamp too. Wells added,” It is probably not going to be a dive operation like you would normally see – it will be more of divers wading through the water. Along with this, the help was taken from the Volusia Country Sherrif’s Office for a helicopter helping to locate the 1-year-old Jose Lara.

At the time of missing, Lara was wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt. He was just a 1-year-old who only spoke Spanish. After Jose’s disappearance, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a Missing Child Alert. The officer also located Lara’s toys near the woods behind the home.
