West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has announced that the lockdown will be extended till June 15 due to COVID-19. The lockdown was about to end on 30th May. The state has registered 16,225 coronavirus cases on Wednesday and the death toll mounted to 14,827. The active cases in West Bengal are 1,23,377 and the recovered patients are 11,79,999. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced that shopping malls, restaurants, markets, swimming pools, and bars. Bazaars, shops selling vegetables, fruits, markets, milk, bread, and shops will remain closed from 7-10 am. Banks will be opened from 10 am to 2 pm. Sweets shops will remain open between 10 am to 5 pm. Funerals will be allowed with a maximum of 20 people.

West Bengal Extends COVID-19 Lockdown Till June 15

Marriage functions will be allowed with only 50 people. Tea gardens will be placed outside and the restrictions with only 50% workforce. All the private schools, colleges, and schools will be closed till 15th June. Metro services, inter-state bus/train services, and local trains will remain closed. All cultural, political, and religious assemblies are also banned till 15th June. Private taxis, auto movements, cars will be restricted till 15th June. Intra-state goods trucks movement will be restricted for essential supplies. A 6-day lockdown has been imposed on the captain by vehicle and IDs of people who are commuting in Delhi.

The lockdown will be continued till 26th April at 5 am. Capital has reported over 28,000 COVID-19 cases on 21st April. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the coronavirus cases and the death toll also come down in the last few days. He has informed that lockdown in the national capital and extended by one more week till Monday. The national capital will be under lockdown since 19th April. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also said that 8,500 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. The migrant workers are leaving for their hometown from Delhi from Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. at 10 pm on 19th April and imposed till 5 am on 26th April. Migrants have also expressed disappointment on the amount charged by the busses. The positivity rate in Delhi has also dropped to 6,500 cases per day. The ongoing lockdown in Delhi lockdown will be extended for another one week and metro stations and malls will be closed. This has been stated by Chief Minister on Sunday. Currently, the aged 45+ people are being vaccinated at hospitals. Age 18+ are also eligible for the vaccination.
