The first poster look of the film Dune, a 1965 based novel by Frank Herbert of the same name has been revealed by Vanity fair’s cover story surrounding the forthcoming sci-fi epic, unleashing first looks at the film’s cast and a few key details about the film. The new movie follows the league of the 1984 original film and a television series released in 2000. This much-anticipated film is directed by ace Denis Villeneuve and slated for its release on December 18.

The film stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides. The most eye-grabbing thing is Timothée Chalamet’s first look from Denis Villenueve’s Dune that has been revealed and the actor seems to skillfully embody the inner turmoil of his character, Paul Atreides. All the pictures were awe-striking and gave a vibe of a true blue Sci-fi.

The film is set in the far off future, Dune follows Paul Atreides (Chalamet), whose family used to have control of this now turned desert planet Arrakis. When Paul and his family are deceived, the story investigates subjects of governmental issues, religion, and man’s relationship to nature, as Paul drives rebellion to restore his family’s rule.

Talking about the character, Timothée Chalamet said, “The immediately appealing thing about Paul was the fact that in a story of such detail and scale and world-building, the protagonist is on an anti-hero’s-journey of sorts. He thinks he’s going to be sort of a young general studying his father and his leadership of a fighting force before he comes of age, hopefully, a decade later, or something like that.”

Sharing the information, Villeneuve said that the story was indeed adapted from Frank Herbert’s novel but Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts assisted him in the adaptation. He said, “Dune was made by people from all over the world. Many of these people are like family to me, and they’re very much in my thoughts. I’m so proud to showcase their hard work. I look forward to a time when we can all get together again as Dune was made to be seen on the big screen,”

The film is a star-studded affair, along with Timothée Chalamet, it boasts actors like Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa and Javier Bardem. Looks like the release of Dune will not get postponed due to the pandemic crisis, considering its release in the end of the year, things will be looking in a better shape.
