The member of “Switch” Tommy DeBarge passed away at the age of 64 after suffering from the complication of liver and kidney failure over the years. According to the sources, his health was not good and as the day was passing, it went worsened, later, Tommy DeBarge was hospitalized a few weeks ago.

The official sources said that Tommy took his last breath on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Earlier this year, he also suffered from the complications of Covid-19. It is heartbreaking news for his fans and family members. He was an amazing artist in the 90s who gave his best on several stage shows.

Tommy’s daughter, Marina DeBarge said that he also battled Covid-19 at the starting of the year and for more than years, he has been diagnosing kidney and liver disease but never complained about his pain. She added that he fought till his last breath and closed his eyes on October 21, 2021.

Since the news of his passing went viral on social media, his fans are paying tribute to him by sharing his 90s pictures on social media. It was upsetting for all the fans after knowing that a legendary star has gone from this world. The demise of Tommy DeBarge was announced by his sister, Esterline “Bunny” DeBarge on Facebook on this Thursday by sharing a video in which her brother is playing the guitar.

Who Was Tommy DeBarge?

Tommy DeBarge was a member of the R&B/Funk music band Switch. He founded this band along with his brother Bobby DeBarge. He gained massive success in the music industry and also on Motown Records with Switch in the 1970s. The single track of the band “There’ll Never Be” got famous and became the R&B top 10 hit.

Along with this, the group also inspired several music groups that came after R&B/Funk Music Group such as Mint Condition and Tony! Toni! Tone!. While their younger siblings brother also created their group named as DeBarge.
