If we talk about his debut in cricket then his international debut happened in 2009. Also, he has featured in 6 Tests, 166 ODIs, and 84 T20Is in his long 12 years career. If we talk about his ODI career then he has 2,338 runs and picked up 135 wickets in ODI cricket. On the other hand, he has 51 wickets and 1204 runs in T20I cricket. Apart from this, he was also part of Sri Lanka’s 2014 T20 World Cup-winning team. Perera hit a total of 14 balls to score 23 runs and remained unbeaten against India in the T20 World Cup in 2014 when Sri Lanka won the World Cup.

He said, “I take pride in the fact that I was able to represent Sri Lanka in seven cricket World Cups, and be a contributing member of the 2014 T20 World Cup win against India in Bangladesh”.
