Soorma is a biopic on Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh. Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh who plays Sandeep in the film. Has yet again proved his mettle as an artist and has left the audience and critics impressed with his act. Despises exchange Sanju soorma has been able to hold its own at the box office with Rs 8.25 Crore collection in two days, the film collection Rs 3.25 crore on its opening day showed an upward trend on Saturday with Rs5.50 crore.

Soorma total collection now stands at 8.25 crore.  Diljit Dosanjh is spot on and that is the film’s biggest triumph. Whenever Dosanjh is on film  we are with him as he goes through Singh’s  the struggle to please a vicious bully of a local coach(Hussain) who gets his jollies from clubbing  up young player the falling in love with the bright-eyed Harpreet (Pannu)  who is an equal dab hand with the stick and who wants to play for India as much  as he does the shocking incidental  on a train which leads him to paralysis and tough painful journey back to the field.

Hockey player Sandeep Singh established himself in the international arena as a promising hockey player. However, in an unfortunate turn of an event, an accidental gunshot in 2006 left him paralyzed for a year. Through sheer grit and consideration Singh not only began to walk again, he returned to the national hockey team.

 His performance on the field helps India closure 2nd in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup that year. Sandeep rose in the rank and was made the captain of the India national team in January 2009. India won the Sultan Azlan Shah cup in 2009 under his management, and Sandeep was the highest goal scorer and won the man of the tournaments award. He was bestowed with the qualitative Arjuna Award in 2010 for his achievements field hockey. soorma was given a positive by the India express film critic Shabhara Gupta.
