Shakhtyor Soligorsk will host Neman Grodno for the third round of the game of Belarusian league. The teams are currently ranking adjacent to each other on 7th and 8th number. Not only this, they each share 3 points in their account with a 2:1 goal difference. Taking at a glance at their performance, both have experienced a roller coaster ride at the beginning of the league.
The home side, which is Shakhtyor Soligorsk had a bad start to the premier league with home defeat of 1-0 against Torpedo Zhodino. However, they reclaimed their win in the very next match with 2-0 against Gorodeya. We can say that their start to the game was somewhat like they have ended the last season. A low scoring trend has come along too. Their loss to Torpedo at the start came surprising to us which ended their 12 match unbeaten home record along with it. The team has a strong foot in their home ground even Neman Grodno has won just one of the last 11 meetings between the two teams in all competitions.
There is no denial that Neman Grodno followed the same steps as Shakhtyor, they too have won one and lost one of their league games in 2020. Both times Neman hosted its opponents and started with a 1-0 defeat at Isloch and a 2-0 home win against Vitebsk last time out. Though Neman’s defeat to Isloch was no wonder because they won just one of their last eight away matches, with the six defeats in the process.
What we can definitely say is that both teams have produced low scores and marginal wins. Out of 15, 13 have got them as low as 2.5 goals. Their recent away games in the Belarus top-flight have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven matches. Neman’s has lost six of the straight away matches has significantly added to the pile of low scores.
Date and time – Saturday 04th April 2020, at 1:30 PM
Venue – The Stadyen Budaunik
It’s hard to predict who would win the face off, as their start was a bit slow as compared to other teams. Both are under 2.5 goals scored and have been involved in several low-scoring encounters. However, Shakhtyor has a better chance to win this one considering their strong pick on the home soil. And, Nemon’s visiting history is all well known.
As we know both teams have made mixed starts to their campaigns in the Premier League. However, we are tilting towards a home win, as Shakhtyor are generally strong on home soil, while visitors have been woeful on their travels dating back to last season.
