Samsung has made a new entry in the budget smartphone segment and has launched its new entry level smartphone Galaxy J2 Core in India. This smartphone is an upgraded variant of Galaxy J2 Core that came in the year 2018. After two years, the design and specification of this upgraded version is expected with a lot of changes. The phone has been launched in a single variant with 1GB + 16GB storage while the old model had only 8GB of storage.
Let’s check the design and salient features of this newly launched smartphone.
The new Galaxy J2 Core (2020) has a 5-inch PLS TFT LCD with a pixel resolution of 540×960 with the aspect ratio of 16: 9 surrounded by thick bezels. The phone comes with a Gorilla Glass Protection. Three colors have been made available for the phone namely, Blue, Black and Gold colors. All three colors look richer and better.
For performance, this phone has an Exynos 7570 quad-core processor. Apart from this, this phone comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. But the lack of RAM is a drawback of this phone, while other smartphone companies offer 2GB RAM to 3GB RAM at the same price. But the operating system and apps in this phone have been specially optimized so that despite having 1GB of RAM, this phone will run without hanging.
Battery and Storage
Galaxy J2 Core comes with a decent inbuilt battery of 2600mAh to power up the phone. According to the company, this battery can give up to 14 hours of backup. However, the let down is that this phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo OS despite the latest Android Go Edition. This phone also has a smart manager feature, with the help of which apps and content can be moved to a micro SD card. For connectivity, the phone includes dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Micro USB, 3.5mm headphone jack and Bluetooth version 4.2.
As this phone falls in the budget friendly section, there is nothing fancy about the camera it offers except from a rear and front camera, the phone has an 8MP rear camera, while for selfie, it has a 5 megapixel front camera. Videos of 1080p resolution can be captured at 30fps with its rear camera. The phone has been launched with auto-focus, flash on the back panel and full HD video recording support.
The price of Samsung Galaxy J2 Core (2020) has been kept decently at Rs 6,299. The new Galaxy J2 Core (2020) is expected to give a tough competition to the budget smartphones of Redmi. It is expected that this smartphone will hit the market for sale only after the lockdown is over.
