Ratan Tata Thanks Govt After Air India Handover
The government has announced the contract between Air India and Special Purpose Vehicle AIAHL for the transfer of non-core acquisitions. The decision is very big as Tata Group has taken full control of the iconic ‘Maharaja’. Tuhin Kant Pandey, Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM) said “The formalities have been completed.
The Air India disinvestment process is closed. The shares have been transferred to Talace Pvt Ltd, which is the new owner of Air India”. Along with it, Tata Group also confirmed this news and they took to social media to announce this great news.
The Tata Group today declared the fulfillment of the transaction for the purchase of Air India from the Government of India. The Tata Group has taken over the administration and management of the airline from today.
On this great occasion, Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd. said “We are excited to have Air India back in the Tata Group and are committed to making this a world-class airline. I warmly welcome all the employees of Air India, to our Group, and look forward to working together”.
Mr. Ratan N. Tata along with Mr. N Chandrasekaran expressed his gratitude to the Government of India and its different branches for successfully achieving this significant deal.
