Ashim Bandhopadhay, the younger brother of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been died due to COVID-19 on Saturday morning. He was suffering from COVID-19 for a month and admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata. His treatment was running from the Medica Hospital where the Doctors declared him dead today morning. The final rites of Ashim will be performed by his family following the COVID-19 protocols. India has registered over 2.43 crore COVID-19 cases in the second wave of coronavirus. Best Bengal has announced that the schools/colleges, gym, malls, cinema halls, and metro stations will be close till 30th May. West Bengal CM has announced that the Inter-state buses, trains, and metro stations will be closed as the lockdown will be continued to 30th May. All gathering places such as malls, restaurants, and gyms will also be closed. Tea gardens will work with 50% of workers. Jute mils will allow 30% occupancy in the mils. In the last 24 hours, capital recorded 6,500 new cases of coronavirus which has gone down to 11%. The government has allotted 1,000 ICU beds in the last 15 days. The oxygen concentrator bank will start working from today that will provide the oxygen to each COVID-19 patient. A team will provide oxygen to those patients who are quarantined in their homes.
