The latest episode of Star Plus TV show Kasautii Zindagii Kay begins with Anurag staring at Prerna, while she closes the window of her office cabinet. Anurag sweetly touched Prerna’s cheek. Prerna decides to pull his leg, saying, you can only do it after marriage. Anurag says that we are already married and made for each other. He says everything will be fine. On the other hand, everyone preps for gift exchange ceremony at the Basu house. Anupam says he doesn’t understand this ritual. He asks, “Why is there a gift ceremony?” Mohini tells him that in the old days, the mother of the groom used to give a gift to the mother of the bride as payment for her daughter and during the wedding ceremony, the mother of the bride used to give her daughter more gifts so that no one can taunt her. She says it’s a ritual and we have to perform this.
In Kasautii Zindagii Kay 19th June 2019 episode, Prerna’s family arrives at the Basu house with gifts. Mohini says to Prerna’s mother Veena that she has been waiting for her for a long time and hugs her. Veena receives a call from Prerna; she tells her mother that Anurag is fine and that they will leave for home from the office after he finishes his work. Prerna asks her mother to starts the ritual. Tapur tells everyone that the auspicious time to perform the ritual is till 4 PM. Mohini shows off the expensive gifts she brought for Veena. She says, “Who else will give expensive gifts for marriage if Mohini Basu doesn’t?” Mohini gifts Veena a beautiful sari made of pure silk and real gold. Mohini says to Veena that she really wants her to wear that sari during Anurag and Prerna’s wedding. Mohini also tells the price of sari and necklace and bangles set, Rs 3.50 lakh and Rs 9 lakh respectively.

Veena says to Mohini that she won’t be able to accept such expensive gifts. Mohini humiliates Veena by presenting the expensive gifts to her. Veena gets angry and says she is bearing this all just because she can do anything for her daughter and that she can give anything, even her house. Later, Shivani tells her elder sister Prerna about the whole scene. Anurag gets to know about Mr. Bajaj’s evil deeds. What will happen next?
