A farmer was killed after hitting by a car which was driven by Chidanand Savadi, son of deputy chief minister Laxmi Savadi. The incident occurred on Monday evening at Kudala Sangam Cross on NH-50. The deceased identified as Kudleppa Boli who was 56 years old and belongs to the Chikkahandargal village. Savadi hit him by car and tried to escape from the spot instead of helping Kudleppa. The family members and villagers said that he was severely injured and when he returned home, and when we objected, the deputy chief minister’s son threatened them by saying that if they would file against him then he will not spare anyone. One of the officials has said that the FIR has been registered against the car driver and police has started an investigation as well.

Bagalkot SP Superintendent Lokesh Jagalasara said that Savadi’s driver Hanumant Singh was driving the car and Savadi was sitting on the back seat. Police said that Savadi and his friends were returning in two cars from a trip. Savadi has refused that he was not driving the car while the accident occurred. He has given this statement to the Police. The FIR was registered by deceased family members and police started interrogating Savadi.
