The collection figures of the very first week of the latest Bollywood period drama flick are now out. On the other hand, the upcoming superhero Hollywood movie Avengers: Endgame has become the talk of the town. Fans are eagerly waiting for the Marvel movie; there is sky-high expectation associated with the Hollywood film.
Abhishek Varma’s directorial film Kalank is going to face stiff competition from the upcoming movie, Avengers. Around 10 lakh tickets have been sold out on the very first day for the Hollywood movie. According to the trade experts, the superhero movie will rule the box office in the upcoming days while the box office collection graph of Varun and Alia’s film is decreasing continuously.
Kalank is standing with a total box office collection of Rs 69 crore. The multi-starrer movie was supposed to generate significant business at the box office, but it failed to spread its magic. The film was supposed to be one of the biggest hit of 2019. The periodic drama received mixed reviews from the film critics and receiving a lukewarm response from the audience. Apart from Varun and Alia, the film also featured Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
The movie is set on the backdrop of the pre-independence British era in 1945. The film hit the theatres on 17th April; it was released on 5300 screens worldwide that make it the first 2019 Bollywood movie to receive the widest release. According to the recent media reports, Kalank is made under the budget of Rs 150 crore. The film has not recovered its making cost yet. The film is currently running in its second week and running slow in the theaters.
