An employee of the Revenue Department in Budgam district, Jammu and Kashmir were shot and killed by terrorists. According to the sources, the incident took place on Thursday afternoon, May 12, 2022. The victim is believed to be a Kashmiri Pandit, sustained serious injuries after the shot, and later, he was rushed to the hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead by the hospital staff. Along with this, it was reported that the incident took place at the Tehsildar office in Chadoora in central Kashmir. Since the news of his death was announced, there is an atmosphere of fear in the district.
People are getting worried to come out of their houses as the incident took place once again with them. According to the official sources, the victim has been identified as Rahul Bhat who was a member of the Kashmiri Pandit community. With this, a terror group named “Kasmir Tigers” has taken the responsibility of this attack. The Kashmir Zone Police took Twitter and tweeted,” Terrorists fired upon one employee namely Shri Rahul Bhat from the minority community in Tehsildar office Chadoora, Budgam”.
Terrorists Attacked Kashmiri Pandit in Budgam District
After this incident took place, the security forces and police launched a search operation to find out the arsonists behind this incident. After the news of Bhat came into the limelight, many people are taking social media for expressing their deep condolence for him. The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah alleged that the central government had failed to provide security to the common people.
He tweeted,” Very sad and disturbed to hear about the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit. This killing will create fear among others also. The security situation is worsening in the Kashmir Valley and the government is busy presenting a fake rosy picture of Kashmir. All is not well in Kashmir”. Several politicians came ahead to tweet and revealed the situation of Jammu and Kashmir. Last month, two motorcyclist-terrorists opened fire at a Kashmiri Pandit shopkeeper in the Chotogam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. Later, the victim was identified as Sonu Kumar who survived in this attack.
A Twitter user named Fatima Dar tweeted,” Another targeted killing of #Kashmiripandit, is highly condemned.. He was not on any combat and working to feed his family. Why was he killed? These perpetrators of terror are the worst scar on the teachings of Islam and on humanity!”.
