The upcoming Tamil-language action thriller film “Jagame Thandhiram” is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by S. SAshikanth and Ramachandra trailer is out today. The trailer introduced Dhanush in a lead role playing a gangster from Madurai. He travels to London to fight against a local gangster and the role is played by James Cosmo who was last seen in a web series Game Of Thrones. The movie will be based on his journey from Madurai to London where the story will be based on the bitter relationship between them. Aishwarya Lekshmi and James Cosmo will be seen as the lead characters along with Dhanush. Joju George and Kalaiyarasan will be seen in the lead supporting roles.
The film is produced with Reliance Entertainment. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music and the cinematography is done by Shreyas Krishna and edited by Vivek Harshan. The makers announced the official project details in April 2016 with the Thenandal Studio Limited but due to some financial issues, they cancelled the project. IN 2018, the makers announced the project with YNOT Studio production house. The production team started the shooting in September 2019 which took place in Madurai, Chennai, and London. It took three months to complete the shooting of the film. Some of the shooting in the movie has done in London and some of the places in the UK.
Jagame Thandhiram was scheduled to be released on 1st May 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the makers postponed the theatrical release. The makers chose to wait until the situation will be under control in the country. Its been a year that the film is completed and ready to be launched. So the makers announced to release of the film through Netflix. They planned to launch the trailer and made an announcement to make a digital release through Netflix. Now the films scheduled to be released on 18th June 2021. It will be dubbed in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. Dhanush has tweeted after the completion
shooting and wrote, “That’s a wrap for D 40. In one of the films, I have completed the shooting in a short span of time. It was a pleasure to work with such sensible and visionary directors and producers like Karthik Subbaraj and the team. This is going to be very special”. The audience has watched the trailer on YouTube and expressed their excitement for the official release. This movie will exclusively available on Netflix on 18th June 2021.
