The Gujrat government has cancelled the 12 class exam because of the COVID-19 crisis. Gujrat Education Minister Bhupendrasinha Chudasama announced the information today. Earlier, the Gujrat Board has declared that the 12th board exams will be conducted from 1st July. Chudasama said, “Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board cancels class 12th board examination”. As per the CBSE news and official updates, the CBSE class 12 Board Exam 2021 has been cancelled and the decision has been taken today at a high-level meeting organized by Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the decision to cancel CBSE class 12 Board Exam 2021 has been taken in the interest of students.
He further stated that the health and safety of our students are our priority and there would be no compromise on this aspect. The student should not be forced to appear in the exam in such a tough situation. The decision in Gujrat came after this announcement of the cancellation of the Central Board of Secondary Education board exams for class 12 students on Tuesday. Bhupendra Sinha Chudasama has also said that the upcoming session for schools will be started from 7th June and it will be conducted through online mode due to the pandemic situation.
There were approximately 1.40 lakh students of the science stream and 5.43 lakh students of the general stream who were expected to appear for the board exam. Apart from this the Haryana government and Punjab government have also announced to cancel the class 12 exams conducted by the state board. Many students and parents were also demanding the cancellation of CBSE class 12 board exams 2021 due to COVID-19 cases. An appeal was also filed in the Supreme Court for the cancellation of exams. Earlier, the centre decided to announce the decision on CBSE 12th exams on 3rd June, but a meeting held
today where Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to cancel the exams. Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal also said that the 12th class board exams will be cancelled as per the demand of parents and students. Yesterday, Gujrat registered 1,561 fresh COVID-19 cases in the state. They have stated that the recovery rate stands at 95.21% and 29,015 cases are left in Gujrat. Bhupendra Sinha Chudasama has also said that the upcoming session for schools will be started from 7th June and it will be conducted through online mode due to the pandemic situation.
