Previously, the lockdown was fixed to open on 26th April 2021 but due to rising cases in Delhi, the government extends the lockdown. Today, the announcement by the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal confirmed that the lockdown will be extended by one week and will continue till 3rd May 2021. Before it, the lockdown was supposed to end at 5 am on 26th April 2021.
The conference completed virtually in which Arvind Kejriwal said that “The virus continues to wreak havoc in Delhi. We had imposed a 6-day lockdown in Delhi. The lockdown is being extended to next Monday till 5 am. While the positivity rate has reduced, Delhi has been seeing an acute shortage of medical oxygen”. The chief minister addressed the entire state and confirmed that the lockdown will not end till 3rd April 2021. The Chief Minister took to social media to announce the extended lockdown in Delhi. Also, he said many more things about the pandemic because everyone suffering from it and want some better result in the future.
If we talk about the further statement of Arvind Kejriwal then he also said that “Everybody voted for the extension of lockdown. The positivity rate reached up to 36-37 percent in the past few days although it has slightly dipped now. It is around 29 percent today”. The daily number of cases that registered only in Delhi then it number is extremely huge which is 20,000 daily Covid-19 cases. The rate of positivity is 32% which actually a very big percent that totally stunned everyone.
