The Co-founder of Adobe, Charles Geschke has died on Sunday at age 81. The Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen has shared the news with his employed stated ” We have lost a gem who has guided us throughout his life and we are so proud of him. This is a massive loss for Adobe company and all the technical departments. Charles Matthew who is also known as “Chuck” was a computer scientist who holds a Ph.D. in computer science. He is known for his invention of Adobe.Inc with his partner John Warnock. Chuck and John developed software that will give another source of people to communicate. He has contributed more than needed to establish the company.
He was a mathematics professor at John Carroll University from 1963 to 1968. Then completed his Ph.D. in computer science from the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He joined the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center where he worked with Warnock. They both decided to start their company and left the job in 1982. They began their company with their first invention Adobe PostScript. He was the Chief Operating Officer of Adobe for 8 years. He contributed as a chairperson of the board with his partner Warnock from 1997 to 2017. He has published a book
“The Design Of An Optimizing Compiler” which he has written also. When Chuck invented the company he invented some of the software such as ubiquitous PDF, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Premiere Pro. This program helped to boost the publishing companies who deal in the technical industries. Warnock has stated over Chuck’s death that “I am glad that I shared my knowledge with a person who is capable in doing everything and I can never have such an intelligent business partner like Chuck. He is no longer with us and this is a huge loss for those who love him. You will always be missed, my friend”.
His wife stated that “Chuck has headed an extensive company in the U.S and became a popular businessman. We are proud of him for his achievements in technical industries. He always says that he is the luckiest man in the world”. Chuck has also survived a kidnapping attempt in 1992 where two men grabbed him and lock up him for 4 days and asked for an amount to release him. The case went to the FBI and they rescued him after 4 days.
