According to the Union Government, the Covid-19 Vaccine is ready to roll out and will be available to use from January 13, 2021. As Serum Institute’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin were both granted emergency use authorization by the Drugs Controller General of India on January 3.
On Tuesday Secretary of the Union Health Ministry Rajesh Bhushan told media that “Within 10 days of emergency use authorization, we are prepared to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine.”
The COVID-19 vaccine Covishield which is manufactured by the Serum Institute, and Covaxin of the city-based Bharat Biotech for restricted emergency use in the country. As we know it is the most important thing which is waited by the Indian citizens. From the past few months, the availability date has been delayed many times, and the covid vaccine involved in many plunders.
Paul, who is also the Chairman of National Expert Group On Vaccine Administration for COVID-19 (NEGVAC) told media that the government is hoping that by July, all 30 crores prioritized people and along with it he said “Our first phase (of vaccination) comprises priority groups with a high risk of mortality and our healthcare and frontline workers. For them, we believe, we have enough (COVID-19 vaccine) stockpile,” Paul added and he said “three to four months from now, there will be other vaccines and the stockpile will be even bigger.”
