The well-known producer Seher Aly Latif who produced the Netflix series “Bhaag Beanie Bhaag” passed away on Monday after cardiac arrest. She breathed her last in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. Her family admitted her for renal failure but she couldn’t survive. She has produced the superhit Bollywood movies like Lunchbox and Monsoon Shootout. Seher Latif is an Indian casting director who has worked in Indian films as a casting director and producer. She has given many hits such as “Shakuntala Devi”, Lunchbox, and Durgamati The Myth. These are some of the popular movies directed and produced by her. She has recently worked in a Netflix series “Bhag Beanie Bhag” starring Swara Bhaskar where she worked with director Neeraj Udhwani.
The indianexpress.com has confirmed the news of her demise wrote, “It’s unbelievable. It’s news of her demise and hard to process. We were told she was recovering. And today, I got to know that she is no more. She had an infection due to which she suffered renal failure. She was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital last week and doctors confirmed that her condition is better than before. Doctors put her on antibiotics and said that she will be fine soon. This is hard to believe that she is not with us anymore”. Many of the Bollywood directors and actors expressed their grief on social media after her demise. Nimrat Kaur, who was the lead actress in the movie ‘Lunchbox’ tweeted that the late producer was one of the kindest people she has ever met.
She was the most loving person and she is still trying to believe the news. Travel on into the light my dearest, sweetest Seher. The unpredictable, ghostly shortness of life remains baffling… Awaits to meet you on the other side”. Actress Nikita Dutta, also tweeted after getting the news of Seher’s death, “The heaven will be blessed with your mushy hugs and infectious smile. Still can’t fathom this though”. She has written the post alongside a photo of Seher. Seher Aly Latif started her career as a casting director. She has worked in many international projects named Furious 7,
Eat Pray Love Viceroy’s House, McMafia, and Sense 8. These are some of the popular projects she has worked on. She produced a short film “Masterchef” helmed by Ritesh Batra for the Sundance Institute. Her supportive director Neeraj also expressed his condolence and wrote, “Her default expression was a smile. You would always find her smiling. She was one of the kindest and loving people I ever met. I collaborated with her on Maska and I couldn’t have asked for better producers than them for that film”.
