The Friday morning accident took place near Karnataka’s Dharwad city. Tampo traveler collided with a truck near Itigatti village, some 430km north-west to its capital Bengaluru. There were 11 people traveling towards Goa to attend a family function. All the passengers died on the spot. The majority of those who have died are women.
According to the police, a total of 17 people were going for a tour. Seven people are injured when the accident took place at a crossing some 8 kilometres from the Dhardwad city. The injured have been shifted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Science for treatment. The condition of five is still critical, the source said.
