The trend of online shopping is under the question of security and safety again. 12 shopping websites have been identified as fraudulent by Mumbai Police. The Mumbai Cyber Police has also arrested an IT expert from Gujrat in relation to this fraud. He has been accused of running these fraud websites for selling household items across India. Mumbai Police, in his tweet, declared this fraud worth 70 lakh. It has been estimated that more than 22,000 people are the victim of this fraud. The police took action against the websites and further investigation is going on.
Online shopping is considered so much convenient way of buying things. Most people also prefer online shopping to offline, but still, this online market of buying and selling things is not understood as the safest way. The cases of negligence of security and trust can be seen regularly nowadays. This is another reoccurrence of such cases when 12 shopping websites have been identified as defaulters and responsible for fraud with the duped public.

These websites were being operated across the country. They provided day to day use products, clothes, groceries, electronic devices, and other items. There was no proper security measure followed by them and hardly they could be trusted. However, more than 22,000 thousand people got stuck in the scam run by them.

Studies show that this kind of online marking fraud has increased rapidly. The complaints filed in such cases have doubled in the comparison of last year in India.
